BPGPCA Inc Code of Conduct Policy – Mutual Respect Agreement
The Bellarine Peninsula Growers, Producers and Consumers Association Incorporated (BPGPCA Inc., trading as Bellarine Farmgate) requests that the Committee, Members, Staff, and Volunteers of BPGPCA Inc. subscribe to a Mutual Respect Agreement as described below as their agreed Code of Conduct Policy.
Definitions:
“Members” means any Grower and/or Producer who sells product at the Local Produce Market/s held on behalf of the BPGPCA Inc.
“Staff” means a person who is paid by BPGPCA Inc. for their time spent on tasks by the BPGPCA Inc.
“Volunteers” means those who do tasks on behalf of the BPGPCA Inc. without payment for their time spent on these tasks.
Note: The Mutal Respect agreement as described below applies to all persons who deal with or are dealt with by the BPGPCA Inc.
Action:
Persons involved with the BPGPCA Inc. will be asked to sign this Mutual Respect Agreement as an indication that they have read and accepted the terms and conditions of this Policy. Growers and Producers wishing to become members will be required to acknowledge acceptance of the terms and conditions of the Policy when completing their online membership application via the Bellarine Farmgate website. Involvement with the BPGPCA Inc. is contingent upon signing/accepting this agreement.
No person can govern, work for, sell, promote, enter into agreements, and/or volunteer for the BPGPCA Inc. without agreeing to the Policy.
If a person involved with the BPGPCA Inc. does not honour the spirit of the Mutual Respect Agreement, they will become subject to the Grievance Procedure (Division 3) and Disciplinary Action (Division 2) of the Model Rules of an Incorporated Association adopted by the BPGPCA Inc.
The Mutual Respect Agreement
Mutual respect is about everyone being valued for who they are and what they bring to the table. It involves seeing each person’s unique contributions, recognising and understanding differences, and celebrating diversity – but also capitalising on common ground.
A mutual respect culture begins with a zero-tolerance approach to disrespect.
Disrespect can be identified by the following questions:
Does/is the behaviour:
- Come across as intentionally rude, hostile, or discourteous?
- Harm, disrupt or upset someone unnecessarily?
- Negatively affect relationships?
- Undermine the cohesion of BPGPCA Inc.?
- Damage the mission or reputation of BPGPCA Inc.?
- Break the rules of BPGPCA Inc.?
- Dishonest or illegal?
If any of these questions can be answered with YES, then it is likely that a behaviour needs to be stopped.
The BPGPCA Inc will encourage a Mutual Respect Culture by:
- Understanding individual needs and differences
- Promoting good manners and respecting how all persons involved want to be treated.
- Establishing clear boundaries for a person’s rights and responsibilities to understand when others might experience disrespect.
- Modelling the behaviour that we expect from all persons involved in BPGPCA Inc activities.
